The right format for each application

• Presentation: A presentation format is delivered in Microsoft Word (the business standard). While visually appealing, it is also the most versatile and can be uploaded to job sites, attached to e-mails, printed, mailed, faxed, or hand delivered. Furthermore, it is optimized for the type of Applicant Tracking System technology commonly used on USAJobs and other Federal application sites.
• ASCII: An ASCII format is plain text and optimized for electronic submission; it can be pasted into the body of an e-mail or into online forms that do not accept Microsoft Word. Additionally, it can be used for sites that have memory or file size restrictions.
